Explorer’s Treasure

This month’s UK magazine, Interiors Monthly, features a nice article about Authentic Models and our product. Below is the text:

Explorer’s Treasure: Authentic Models’ products are inspired by finds in antique markets

Authentic Models sees itself as a little different from most accessories companies, according to Eric Hanson, sales director for Europe.

“We don’t buy anything off the shelf, but instead our team visits antique markets and auction houses looking for captivating items with commercial appeal. Then we work with a team of designers to develop high quality reproductions,” he explains.

It has everything from hand-built airplane models to a complete furniture collection or a series of nostalgic games and kits for children.

“Each of our items has a story behind it and customers are drawn to the history and intrigue. Our items regularly turn up at auction, which is a testament to our commitment to quality,” he says.

Authentic Models’ collection of furniture, artifacts and accessories is “inspired by the age of exploration, maritime history, cartography and more… At our core is our never-ending quest for unique objects and designs, coupled with our goal to share the stories with a dedicated audience.”

He says the company will introduce an assortment of items ‘sure to impress even the pickiest customer’ at Interiors UK.

New items include detailed steamer trunks, a bookshelf/TV cabinet in the form of a ladder and an expanded selection of occasional tables. All feature the Authentic Models’ French finish and antiqued bronze hardware. There is also a selection of desk lamps in solid bronze: reproductions of classic styles from the era of Hemingway, Fitzgerald and TS Eliot.

“We also continue to introduce a variety of accessories reproduced and inspired from antiques we discover in our in our travels,” adds Hanson.
