Al Fresco Lighting

I always find the idea of a picnic more enticing than the picnic itself. The mental image tends to exclude mosquitoes and crawling bugs, but definitely includes soft and luxurious plaids, tasty French cheeses, chilled wines, and preferably a butler discreetly hovering in the background serving from the cavernous boot of the Bentley Arnage parked out of sight. When the picnic is not merely social but is organized towards a romantic goal, discreet and soft lighting is indispensable. This is when candle or oil-lights enter the picture, for no electric light can possibly compete with their persuading charms. To be true, ours is an eclectic log, but no less effective for that… collected as it was from the alleyways of Bombay markets to the auction rooms of the Hôtel Drouot.

  1. Hi, I hopped over to your webpage from reddit. This isn’t not blog post I would regularly read, but I liked your thoughts on it. Thanx for creating something worth reading!
